A2H is nominated for an Engineering Excellence Award, hosted by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee, in the Special Projects category. The nomination is for the FEMA Safe Room retrofit of the multi-level math building at Ripley High School.
The building’s structure was retrofitted to serve as a safe room for students. Designed to FEMA P-361 standards, the classroom building can now withstand winds up to 250 miles per hour during dangerous weather conditions. The aging building was also upgraded with new mechanical and electrical systems, a new roof system and ADA access.
Congratulations to our fellow nominees!
