We're proud to celebrate the groundbreaking last weekend for the performing arts center to support the upcoming Power Center Academy Middle School. Memphis Mayor AC Wharton attended and spoke at the ceremony. (Read about the groundbreaking in the Memphis Daily News.)
The center will feature an auditorium/performance venue and feature classrooms and rehearsal space for art, band, and choral students. The building, which is partly funded by FEMA, will provide over 21,000 square feet of space to function as a safe room during dangerous weather conditions. Designed according to FEMA P-361 standards, the safe room will protect occupants from 250 mph winds.
