Hardeman County Parks and Recreation Master Plan
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Parks and Recreation Master Plan Grants were established to assist economically disadvantaged local governments in the creation of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan to provide a road map for future recreational opportunities in their communities. After a state wide Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to local area planning consultants, A2H, Inc. was awarded a place on the final list of consultants that the funding entities could select. Hardeman County along with nine local towns and cities selected A2H, Inc. to provide the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Consulting Services for Hardeman County.
The Hardeman County Parks and Recreation Master Plan serves several purposes and intentions. Future grant funding can be bolstered using this plan as a framework for improvements prioritized by the residents of the County. For County residents and visitors, this plan provides an overview of the existing parks and recreational opportunities that are available within the county, and also provides existing and future residents and visitors an overview of the expectations for future facilities and opportunities. This plan should be utilized when reviewing land use and development project proposals to capture opportunities to enable developer participation in parks and recreation development within the county. Finally, providing a plan for future parks and recreational services and facilities may attract new businesses, industrial development, and county residents.
