Sustainable Design

Sustainable or “Green” Design has a different meaning to many individuals. To clarify its meaning, we can say that three key elements are integral to Sustainable Design.

It must:
1. Enhance the comfort and productivity of the human occupants,
2. Conserve energy, land, and water resources, and
3. Conserve building material waste and promote re-use and recycling

A2H is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). The USGBC is a key player in the promotion of sustainable design with its LEED Certified Building Program. Not all buildings need to be LEED certified, but applying the principles also contributes to the overall effort.
